Outsmart and Outwit

A surprising vote from the kids this morning ended up with us heading to the market to get some ingredients for chicken porridge: chicken, carrots, ginger and spring onions.

However, what the kids did not know was that I decided to make a healthier version by using organic brown rice instead.  Before we left for the market, I had ground the brown rice a little and started the soaking process.  That certainly did the trick.  I started cooking the porridge 5 hours later and the results were fantastic.

Nobody could tell that I had used brown rice, not even hubby!  And everyone gave the meal two thumbs up!

Haha…who says I can’t make them eat brown rice? 🙂
