I’ll have a blue Christmas… December 10, 2007

Posted by The Giddy Tiger in : Relax & Celebrate , trackback

Blue is definitely the IN color this Christmas… as far as shopping malls in Penang are concerned, that is. Queensbay Mall and Gurney Plaza are decked in blueish hues of every Christmas decoration imaginable. Last weekend, when we were in Queensbay, we were drawn by the beautiful Christmas trees that were on display there. Every where we turned, a Christmas tree would greet us, with lights all a-twinkling. Christmas is definitely in the air.

Actually we were also on the hunt for Christmas tree of our own. The week before we wanted to get red decorations for our tree-to-be, but inspired by all the Christmas trees put up all around the mall, we decided to get blue and silver decorations instead. They exude that white christmassy, silver bells feel that makes me wanna break out and sing, “I’m dreaming of a White Christmas”. I don’t really dig white Christmas trees, because I think GREEN looks more authentic. So anyway, yeah, we finally got our tree after spending weeks of tree-window-shopping, all six feet of it, mind you!. We got our blue and silver baubles, stars and snowflakes and oooh, of course, we got twinkly, sparkly lights too. And now, to find some time to set up that tree :) We’ll get round to that STAR on top of the tree once everything is in place, just so it coordinates perfectly.

* hops and skips in glee to decorate that Christmas tree * Whhheeeeeeee….!!!!!

Blue and white decor is nice. I’m going to the Orchard Road malls tomorrow to check them out.

I’m not getting any Christmas tree, after Christmas, the tree and its boxes of ornaments would only clutter up my storeroom.

The Giddy Tigress says: You could get ME some Christmas decorations! :)

15 days left to Christmas.. time really flies.

The Giddy Tigress says: What? Only 15 days???!!!

blue and silver would be so lovely! if I had a tree here I’d do it in that theme, too. it was red and silver back home in KL. I miss my tree… *sigh*

The Giddy Tigress says: I need to get that tree up pronto!

4. LB - December 10, 2007

Subang Parade has this totally all-white deco… More like, Styrofoam all over. So monotonous. Blue is refreshing..!

The Giddy Tigress says: I have never been to Subang Parade… SIGH.

11. Adino - December 11, 2007

Ahh… blue is indeed refreshing. I agree with NarrowBand… I visited Subang Parade and I thought there was a bean bag fair or something :)

Not to sound negative, but make sure you get good quality lights or the whole tree could go up in flames. Also must be careful that baby Ethan doesn’t get exposed to the dangerous lights!

The Giddy Tigress says: Okay, will keep that in mind. Thanks!

Where is the picture of your christmas tree? I wanna have a look. I guess the only thing that matter is the gifts below the tree…:P

The Giddy Tigress says: Pictures are coming soon…

Whee! I did a blue and silver theme for my office tree. Its pretty and wintry but a tad cool I thought. No matter it served my office colours! :)

The Giddy Tigress says: That’s nice! :)

The theme for shopping malls in KL this year is white! Every shopping mall is deced with the white stuff - Suria KLCC, The Curve, Bangsar Village, Subang Parade…

The Giddy Tigress says: If you wear white and go shopping, you will just blend in with the colors eh?
