Smooth, polished surface

For the longest time, my husband and I have wanted to send our wedding bands to the jewelry store to have them repolished. This is not the typical cleaning that takes less than five minutes, but the repolishing process I am talking about is a thorough one where all the chips and scratches on the wedding band will be eliminated and the result is a ring that looks as good as new.

Our wedding bands are platinum ones and are finished in a matte layer. And according to the sales person in the store, this requires BOTH the wedding rings to be sent in for polishing together. The store we bought our wedding rings from offers a free one-time polishing of the rings, and we learnt that the process will take about one week. That’s not too long to wait…I know my fingers would feel naked without my wedding band on my left ring finger. And I know my engagement ring would feel lonely too.

So yesterday, we brought our rings to the store, but upon inspection of the rings, the sales person commented that our rings still look really good. She had seen much worse, and so she advised us to wait a little while longer before bringing the rings back for polishing.

Hmmm… must have been the perfectionist nature in us both that made us think that our rings need polishing. I’m not complainin’ though… 😀
