Last Friday while I was at work, I logged in to check on my gmail account after lunch. The latest email I received was from Mom, all the way from Malaysia. It bore sad news that my Porpor had just passed away. She was 87 years old and had just celebrated her birthday about a week ago.
Reading on, I learnt that Porpor had been admitted into hospital about 9 hours before that and was in a very critical condition.
My Porpor led a beautiful life filled with joy, love and happiness, and she brought a smile to those whose lives she had touched. While I am saddened by her passing, I am ever grateful that I am blessed to have known her; to have had her care for me when I was a baby and to have her love showered upon me.
One of the last few photos I took with Porpor was during her birthday celebration last year. She was always happy to see me, and I remember that she looked very prosperous in that red outfit she was wearing.
I will miss my Porpor, but I know in my heart that her legacy lives on forever.
Death is but crossing the world, as friends do the seas.
Your Porpor lives on in you & your family members still.
May she rest in peace.
*HUGS*

Sorry to hear this bad news. I pray that you and your family will find comform in this difficult time. I don’t know if it helps but the first thing that came to mind were the lyrics to that infamous song…
“Near, far, wherever you are
I believe that the heart does go on
Once more you open the door
And you’re here in my heart
And my heart will go on and on”

I lost my Granny too, on Nov 22nd. She was 86. And I think the last time I met her, called her and kissed her goodbye was before I left for the States in May.
These people who have lived to a ripe old age are surely enjoying themselves somewhere else now 😀
*hugs*
