I Miss My Washer.

It has been exactly FIVE days ago that my washer decided to stop functioning all of a sudden.  With no prior warning, I had put a load of clothes into the washer last Tuesday and poured in the detergent, but no light came on the display.

A quick check with the manufacturer left me even more heartbroken when I found out that the warranty period had just ended last month!  I had no choice but to await the fate of my washer when the technician comes to check on it.

However, based on my description to the technician via phone, he told me the problem was probably a faulty PCB.  Even worse….he told me that there was currently NO STOCK of the said PCB in Penang and he would have to order it.

That would take a WHOLE WEEK.

A WHOLE WEEK of no washer to help me with the laundry.

Can you hear me screaming yet?

So yeah…when I came to, the reality of it all dawned upon me that I now had to do the laundry by hand for a week or so.  Brought back memories of university days and all that hooha but you know, during those days, it was just hand-washing for ONE person: myself.  Let me just tell you that it’s a totally new ball game with FIVE people in the house!

The laundry has begun to pile up all right.

I guess I’m just thankful I have a dryer.

I miss my washer so, and I can’t wait for it to come back to to my tired arms.

  1. Oh goodness gracious! GT! I commiserate. Save your skin, just send the laundry to a reliable launderette for now and wash only those items that you absolutely find too private to be sent out.

I toppled over when I read this post lol

The Giddy Tigress says: Well, if only laundrettes here came with pickup and delivery services! No, it’s much too troublesome for me to take said dirty laundry out with three kids and bring them back again. Thanks for the suggestion though.

Dear — I agree with the above post – use the launderette…! Clothes come back washed, folded and *ironed*. Have to live a little, you know 😀

The Giddy Tigress says: I was just about to give in and take some out, but the “part” arrived 2 days ago! Wheee! Have been doing laundry since!

  3. Handwashing for 5 is no easy task! I’d opt for laundry shop or seek SOS from close relative / good friend. All the best!

The Giddy Tigress says: Thanks! Washer is now fixed! yay!

  4. Preeta says:

Same thing happened to us recently, but aren’t there self-service launderettes in Malaysia?!? That way you can wash everything, even “private” items.

The Giddy Tigress says: Unfortunately we don’t have those coin-type laundry here in our apartment – if not, I would have done the deed!
