I’ve got Blogivitis and it’s contagious! June 15, 2007
Posted by The Giddy Tiger in : Blogging, Memes & Tags , 15commentsThe dreaded blogivitis has infected me
Courtesy of germs from Miss ParisB
There’s no known cure and certainly no vaccine
I’ve really got it bad, let me tell you what I mean…
The disease has made me obsessed with photography
Cuz every thing imaginable is always blogworthy
My favorites are pictures of food I’ve eaten
Like the roti pisang I had, which tasted like a meal from heaven!

Blogivitis made me re-explore photo editing
To showcase pretty pictures for a more pleasurable viewing
Learning from a si-mou, a si-fu and an expert down under
I’m constantly improving, thanks to all my “masters”!
The Google Reader is my trusted friend
A mandatory source which I can depend
I totally rely on it for my blog-hopping journey
Subscribing to feeds, there’s no such thing as too many!
Blogivitis has made me more organized
My RSS feeds are now grouped and systemized
This allows speedy reading and efficient commenting
Every second is a breeze, I’m certainly not complaining!
I live on comments, I find something to say
I simply need to leave at least some comments each day
I get all excited when new comments come my way
It shows my efforts are really starting to pay!
I suddenly find myself behaving rather strangely
Things that previously I would never ever be
The disease forced me to upgrade to an N73
Now I don’t have excuses like “My camera’s not with me!”
And if I do spot an interesting tag
I’d wish and wish for it to be in my bag
I’d even start drafting what I would write
Just in case I get tagged; you never know, I just might!
Now, my days all revolve around blogging
Although my mind’s a blank, I’ll think of something
The blogging ideas are kept in my head
And stay right in there even when I go to bed!
I get my dose of the latest news feed
Not from the papers, but from blogs I read
News on blogs , they spread like wildfire
I get the scoop hot on the wire!
And lastly the symptom that proves I’ve contracted it
Is when my lunch, I will willingly forfeit
Just to crack my brains over long detailed poetry
In order to fulfill a meme as a blog entry!
The following people will now be infected
I give you Blogivitis, so now you’re affected
Pink Cotton, Aikie and the Hijack Queen
Angeleyes and of course, how could I forget Jazzmint!
Snip and Cut June 15, 2007
Posted by The Giddy Tiger in : Thoughts & Scribblings , 4commentsI was watching Desperate Housewives just the other day and suddenly as one of the characters was speaking, one of the words was muted (although his mouth kept moving). C’mon, it doesn’t take a genius to figure out what the word was….It was so apparent what he said but still they had it censored. Yes, he said the word “sex”. *gasp!* *Horror!* So the word “sex” is not allowed on TV, but women clad in sexy outfits are?! Because they’re allowing that anyways….. Whatever happened to the government’s mission to instill sex education in our youth? I mean, can you just imagine the people who work for the censorship board pricking up their ears and going, “a-HAA!!! There’s that word again, let’s blip it out!”
Oh and let’s not get me started about the movies. Remember Hellboy? Oh yeah, some of you might know it by the name of Super Sapiens instead. Why did our censorship board change the name Hellboy to Super Sapiens, when the entire movie all we hear is Hellboy, Hellboy, Hellboy….. Isn’t that just totally absurd? And why the double standards? Why did Hellboy get changed to Super Sapiens (I’m assuming it’s because of the word “hell”), but Linkin’ Park’s Numb, which drones onandon with the line “What the hell are you waiting for?”, gets played over and over again on the radio?
Awww….and Audi! June 14, 2007
Posted by The Giddy Tiger in : Rainmakers , 4commentsHands up those of you who have dreamt (or are dreaming) of owning an Audi! I can imagine a big group of people jumping up and down, waving their hands madly in the air! In fact, it is without a doubt that the Audi is a car that is considered to be in the same league as a Beemer, a Jaguar or a Mercedes Benz. And you know what would be the perfect accessory for an Audi? ME!!!!! Just yesterday, my hubby was telling me that he likes the simple “rings” logo an Audi has. Well, I don’t know if he was trying to hint on a Father’s Day present or not this coming Sunday, but I do agree that if you have the moolah to spend on a set of wheels, the Audi is the way to go (rings logo or not). It is a classic, sophisticated, cool car and yes, a definite chick magnet. *wink* Oh yeah, and I’m sure everyone would want it as their *toy*.
*blinks and snaps out from daydreaming*
SIGH….But if owning an Audi is out of your league, it still never hurts to dream. And now you can keep that dream alive by bringing the Audi to your PC. Try staring at that dream car of yours till kingdom comes…. haha….if only it were that simple to own an Audi! However, with these awesome Audi wallpapers and screensavers, you will be looking at the car day in and day out until it (hopefully) becomes a reality! Just think about it, when you are idling away and thinking about what to blog, this tempting Audi screensaver greets you in the face and totally, absolutely cheers you up! You can choose from the various wallpaper designs they have; I am sure you will be spoilt for choice.
But if an Audi is not really your cup of tea (though I can’t imagine why ever not), perhaps you would love checking out these used cars instead? You can use the impressive search tool to find cars, stating your price range and car model and make too. In addition, you can use the highly impressive and unique map locator to locate the nearest car dealer. Too bad this site only locates dealers in the UK, so I will have to be contented with the *virtual car* for now. So, if you’ll excuse me, I gotta go download that Audi Roadster wallpaper pronto and start swooning!
~This is a sponsored review which will go into my savings to own myself an Audi~
Games We Play June 14, 2007

Does anyone remember Space Invaders? That was *the* in-thing back then. Kids everywhere were crazy over the 2-dimensional shooting game, and although the graphics were just plain and simple, we still got immensely hooked. I recall playing it to death when I was visiting my aunt in Perth, Australia. My brother and I were so addicted we didn’t even want to go sightseeing.
How things have changed now. Kids these days have computer games which are so much more richer in animation and graphics and sound. RPG Games like WarCraft (which by the way, my hubby is addicted to now) offer players the opportunity to play online with other players even on the other side of the planet! Talk about globalization! And I know how easy it is to get addicted to a game like WarCraft. I confess, I too was a WarCraft junkie, believe it or not… I was introduced to the world of humans and orcs when I played WarCraft 2 during my university days. At that time I normally played at night, when everyone was asleep and I was bored and had nothing else better to do. My dormitory would then be really quiet and then in the still of the night, you could hear sounds of pain and agony of creatures being killed coming from behind my room door…. wuahahahaha! My dormitory mates would then knock on my door to inquire if I was all right. Yup, I was addicted all right… Had all those secret codes down pat as well. But not now. I’ve not started playing WarCraft dotA or World of WarCraft although I have heard rave reviews about it. I daren’t. Just in case I get pulled in again.
And hey, you know what, I get to play Space Invaders again, ONLINE!
Color Me Good June 13, 2007
Posted by The Giddy Tiger in : Rainmakers , 3commentsI loved coloring when I was a little kid. Hey, who am I kidding? I still love coloring! I remember back then we were taught to color “inside the lines”, “inside the lines”! And I had this mega cool coloring book that would burst forth with color when I use a paintbrush dipped just in water and touch the pages with it. I thought it was magical then..but now I know it is caused by some ink pigments on the page. Still, magical is a much better word for it.
I was so excited when I discovered Coloring Pages, because with this, now I can not only relive my childhood memories of coloring, I can also share them with the entire world! My *magic* paintbrush is now transformed into a click of my mouse and what was once my coloring book is now my computer screen! The possibilities are virtually endless! In fact, I can also upload my very own images and share it to my friends for them to experiment coloring it! That is so awesome - we could even have a coloring contest online! Now who is willing to bet we can do a better job than this? Heh heh…
I am a Lily, oh yes I am! June 13, 2007

Come and Join the Ecosphere! June 13, 2007
Posted by The Giddy Tiger in : Rainmakers , 2commentsWhat would you do if you had 7 million bucks? Now, that’s a *problem* everyone would like to deal with…. me included. If I got my hands on that, some of it will go to charity, some into my savings, a huge chunk for my family’s benefit and of course, some will certainly be allocated for retail therapy. Hey, I’m a shopaholic after all!
PayPerPost has recently received its second round of 7 million bucks in funding and are wondering how they can best utilize this moolah for their blog outreach program. One thing I can say is that PPP did the smart thing by launching the Lucky 7s promotion all this week. This program will undoubtedly lure posties, advertisers and basically everyone in the community marketplace into the PPP Ecosphere in the blink of an eye. With that kind of money, they can have promotions like these every month. I’m sure all posties would be grinning ear to ear. Better yet, posties with good tack ratings can even be rewarded in cash or by simply creating special high-paying opportunities for them, which they do not need to rush and grab. *hopeful*
Now if you’ll excuse me, I need to go and wait for that elusive $700 opportunity…. *poises finger on Refresh button and prays it comes my way*

The PayPerPost Revolution Accelerates, Sponsored
Blogging Marketplace Secures $7 Million Series B
Draper Fisher Jurvetson leads round and joins Board of Directors
ORLANDO, FL – (June 12, 2007) – PayPerPost, the leading marketplace for advertisers to reach bloggers and other consumer content creators, today announced it has completed a $7 million second round investment led by Draper Fisher Jurvetson, an investor in the company’s Series A and one of the world’s leading high-technology venture capital firms. The financing brings the total amount of capital raised by PayPerPost to over $10 million, giving the company considerable resources for further development as the industry’s leading Consumer Generated Advertising marketplace. Additional participants in the round include existing investors Inflexion Partners and Village Ventures as well as new investor DFJ Gotham. With this investment, DFJ Managing Director Josh Stein also joins PayPerPost’s Board of Directors.
“PayPerPost created this exciting new advertising space and has established itself as the industry leader,” said Ted Murphy, chief executive officer of PayPerPost. “Although we’ve only used a portion of our first round capital, this added support from investors unlocks significant growth potential. Our content creator and advertiser ROI metrics clearly demonstrate the upside for PayPerPost’s model. We intend to use this capital to build the infrastructure, visibility and professional expertise necessary to reach and retain a greater network of advertisers and content creators than ever before.”
Since its founding in June of 2006, PayPerPost has signed more than 6,500 advertisers to its groundbreaking service, which has enabled Consumer Content Creators to be compensated for their efforts discussing specific companies, products or services via blogs, videos or other media. The content creators are required to disclose relationships with advertisers on their blog, providing transparency for the end reader. Over 125,000 Internet postings, most in the form of blogs, have already earned money for their creators through PayPerPost’s innovative marketplace. PayPerPost recently released PayPerPost Direct, a disruptive new service that allows advertisers to contract and negotiate directly with individual bloggers they identify through a safe, managed system.
“PayPerPost has laid a strong foundation for the future,” noted Tim Draper, founder and managing director of Draper Fisher Jurvetson. “It continues to attract a critical mass of participants from both the advertising and blogging communities. Analogous to Overture’s sponsored search model, we believe PayPerPost’s business model holds disruptive potential and will enable the company to thrive in the evolving paid-content arena.”
To mark the $7 million dollar funding, PayPerPost has launched a new website detailing the company’s service offering at http://www.payperpost.com. Bloggers and advertisers can easily sign up at the site and begin leveraging the self service marketplace.
The Borrower June 12, 2007
Posted by The Giddy Tiger in : Thoughts & Scribblings , 11commentsHave you ever heard of The Borrower? Every home has one, and if I remember correctly, there was a movie by this name too some years ago. My brother first told me about the existence of The Borrower in every household, and the more I think of it, the more I am beginning to believe in the authenticity of this claim. Have you encountered situations where you misplaced something in your home and you were absolutely 100% certain you put it some place? But now that you have lost that item, it is not in that “some place” anymore? And no matter how hard you look or how many times you’ve looked, you just can’t seem to locate it. And then one fine day, you suddenly find this item again in that very same FIRST place you had looked before! Deja vu?
Some months ago, I fed my boy some cheese for breakfast. And since he could not (yet) finish the entire slice, I wrapped up the remainder of the cheese and kept it in the fridge. I put it on top of the packet of cheese slices in the fridge. An hour later, I wanted to get the remainder of the cheese which I wrapped up, but when I opened the fridge the wrapped up packet was not there anymore. I distinctly remembered putting it on top of the cheese slices in the middle shelf. I looked on the top shelf, on the bottom shelf and even under the fridge. Although the packet of cheese slices was still there, the small piece of cheese which I had wrapped up was nowhere to be found! I even asked my hubby to look, but even amid his grumblings that I might have *thought* I put it there but I might have placed it some place else instead, he also could not find it. So we forgot about it….or more like *pretend* to forget about it, and went out shopping.
When we came back a few hours later, I opened the fridge and yup…you guessed it, the wrapped up piece of cheese was right where I *knew* I had left it. The Borrower had borrowed it and had returned the cheese to the location where he took it from. Another unexplained mystery?

Yes, the Giddy Tigress can Cook! June 11, 2007
Posted by The Giddy Tiger in : Close to Heart & Home, Drooling & Cooking , 18commentsAfter so many weeks of desperately hoping and praying for homecooked food, my hubby and little boy finally had their prayers answered! Goodbye excuses of “no time” and “too lazy”, last Sunday saw me in the kitchen, giddily cooking up a meal. My parents came for a visit all the way from Ipoh, so they had the rare opportunity to sample the result of my culinary adventure.

The chicken rice was actually *tipu* claypot chicken rice, because I used the rice cooker. Heh heh heh…. And it was the first time my Mom (the claypot chicken rice sifu from whom I learnt the art from) actually tried it. …. Pressure, pressure…..
The secret of course is in the marinade, and I used light soy sauce, pepper, black soy sauce, some sesame seed oil and some oyster sauce to marinade the chicken pieces. I added some pieces of chicken gizzard too - absolutely love the crunchiness of it! I left it to marinade before I went for church in the morning and when I came back, it was all ready to be cooked!
First I fried the shallots, garlic and ginger slices until fragrant. I put in a lot of ginger slices because my hubby and I simply love the taste of it. Then I added the marinated chicken, sliced toong-ku (shiitake mushrooms) and lap cheong (chinese sausage).

Next, I added in the washed rice and stir fried for a few minutes. I then transferred the mixture into a rice cooker, added enough water to cook the rice and poured in generous pieces of kiam-hoo-bak (salted fish meat) right on top before I hit the Cook Rice button. I served it hot, garnished with spring onions and of course, lat-chew-chai aka cili padi (bird’s eye chilli).
Although I had cooked the chicken rice many many times before, it was my first attempt with the kerabu. I normally serve my chicken rice with just cucumber slices, but I was feeling adventurous this time round, so I thought of trying to make a simple version of the kerabu, a favorite appetizer among all Malaysians. The previous night, we bought a small pineapple and I attempted to cut it (first time too!). The kerabu was fairly easy to make and it was a matter of mixing everything up. I simply stirred in the pineapple, cucumber slices, cili padi (bird’s eye chilli) and sliced shallots…oh yeah, for a hint of aroma, I added finely chopped mint leaves too. I then squeezed the juice of a medium-sized lime onto it and mixed up the concoction real good. Then I left it to chill for about an hour in the fridge. That will allow the juices to permeate and give it the right taste.
I don’t know if sleep-induced meals are an indication of a meal well-cooked, but I made the meal for lunch and it left everyone so full, we all fell asleep after that. ![]()
