A Letter from Lebanon

Yesterday we received a reply from our sponsored child in Lebanon. My hubby and I have been sponsoring a little girl in Lebanon for a little over a year now. In a child sponsorship program initiated by World Vision, we pay RM50 per month to provide for her education and upbringing.

We were really worried last year when the war hit Lebanon. We tried to send her a letter just to see how she was, but the post office was not able to deliver to the destination as the post offices in Lebanon were also destroyed at that time, as was the World Vision office there. So as soon as we could, we managed to send her a letter (I guess about 2 months back). It was a relief to receive her reply yesterday, and it was good to know also that all of the children under the World Vision sponsorship program in Lebanon are safe.

It’s really good and heartwarming to read about her progress and to know that we are making a difference in someone else’s life.

The Giddy Tiger says: Yes, it’s for a good cause. And the great thing is, you’re not limited to just ONE child. BTW, welcome to my blog!

The Giddy Tiger says: I remembered you mentioning you are also a child sponsor, and now I know you are sponsoring an Indian child :). It is for a good cause.

  3. Wow! That would be worrisome. Glad she is all right. Wish the world could be at peace. But someone always wants to rattle a sword.

The Giddy Tiger says: Yep, world peace is definitely what everyone needs (even Miss World contestants 😉 )
