What a weekend it had been! On Friday evening, I finally received my copy of the May 2007 edition of Mother & Baby. And I was pleasantly surprised that my letter had been published in the magazine. Pity though that it wasn’t the Star Letter of the month, which was what I was eyeing, otherwise, I would have gotten a prize for it.
Friday night is also Heroes night for hubby and me. We watched Chapter 21, which we felt could have had more “Yattaaa!” to it. Ah well.. there’s always next week.
On Saturday after brunch we made our way to Gurney Plaza. In conjunction with Mothers’ Day, all mothers were entitled to get a single stalk of rose and a slice of chocolate cake from Secret Recipe. The catch was you’d need to spend a minimum of RM50. No problemo. I claimed my red rose and was given a Secret Recipe voucher to redeem the cake. However, at Secret Recipe, I was flabbergasted when I realized that the “slice of cake” was really just “a piece of chocolate brownie”. Argued a bit with the Secret Recipe lady, and made her see the difference between a cake and brownie… SIGH…so much for hoping for that moist chocolate cake. By the way, on another note, I just found out that Secret Recipe now has sugar-free chocolate cake. Huh? What’s the fun in that? 😉
And the highlight of the day….yippety doo da, yippety day…hubby and I bought new cellphones today! Woo-hoo! Check these babies out…
I finally got the Nokia N73 (the one on the right in the picture above) and hubby ended up with the “True Style Never Shouts” Nokia 6300. The 6300 is way slimmer and sleeker than the N73, but the N73 has a built-in 3.2MegaPixel-camera, all for the love of blogging. My N73 phone, however, came with the Symbian OS which is slightly different than the usual Nokia OS I was used to. Thankfully, the N73 came bundled with a special USB cable too, to enable transferring photos and videos into the PC. I used the phone almost immediately and was happily clicking away the next day 🙂
We had a nice Mothers’ Day lunch at T.G.I.Friday’s on Sunday and was given a voucher for a free entree for Daddy forthe upcoming Fathers’ Day. No prizes for guessing where we’re gonna eat then 🙂
Now excuse me while I go fiddle with my phone…heh heh heh…
Happy Mother’s Day, giddy tiger!
What a swell Mother’s Day gift to get – a new handphone! So I guess we’ll be seeing a lot more photos on your blog soon, eh?
The Giddy Tiger says: Sure thing…Gotta get a hang of taking photos with a phone as opposed to a camera first… 😛
Happy belated Mother’s day!
I got the Nokia 6300 for my mother this year. Cool phone! 🙂
The Giddy Tiger says: Yeah, I agree. Very sleek design…and so executive-like huh? I’m sure your mom likes it!
Yum Seng! Happy Mother’s Day!!! Full weekends are great! MIne are vegetating weekends (for now). TGIFs are a swell place, hor? I like it there too, especially the mud cakes.. Y A T T T A A A ! ! !
The Giddy Tiger says: I have heard rave reviews about the mud cake (or pie?) too. And it looks yummylicious in the menu. But so far, I have not had enough space in me after the entree to try it.

The Giddy Tiger says: Yup yup.. you can say that 🙂

the SR brownie isn’t too bad, but I’ve had better. TGIF’s chocolate pie (I think that’s what it’s called) is the best!
Happy Mother’s Day!
The Giddy Tiger says: The Nokia N73 is the best! I love it! You’re the umpteenth person to recommend the mud pie from TGIF…I absolutely must try it soon!

The Giddy Tiger says: You told me to let you know how this phone bodes with me…well, it’s superb! Let me know when you do get a new phone, SA. Maybe an iPhone? 😉
Hit the “say it!” button too quick!
Congratulations on getting your letter posted. Well done. Keep writing them and you will get some prizes I am sure.
The Giddy Tiger says: Will do. And thanks for the compliment 🙂
Happy Belated Mommy’s Day!!!
The Giddy Tiger says: Same goes to you too!
No wonder I saw you at the phone shop.
The Giddy Tiger says: I knew you were gonna say that 😛
