Hello everyone!  It’s been a long while since I last posted here, and no, I have not abandoned blogging forever…it has just been a really eventful month for my family and I, it being the school holidays and all.  We just returned from our family vacation in Singapore, tickets courtesy of Krisflyer Miles and airport taxes courtesy of our pockets.  I’ll be blogging in greater detail about our vacation in my other blog, i.e. Our Little Miracles, but here are a few “here and there”s which were captured during our short and enjoyable stay there.

Lunch at Terminal 2 Changi Airport upon touchdown: We revisited Soup Restaurant, and were pleasantly rewarded with the similar cozy ambience we knew several years ago; same decor, same location…and same excellent yummy delectable food.  Everyone loved the samsui chicken, a restaurant specialty.

We stayed with our friends Bernard and Pei Ling that first night, and took a walk on the Marina that evening, and although we were caught in a slight drizzle, our spirits were definitely not dampened when we took in the breathtaking view of the Marina Bay Sands in all its glory.

All photos taken while trying desperately to keep the camera lens out of the rain as much as possible 😛

Did I mention that I first *met* Pei Ling as my Farmville neighbor?  This was the first time I met her face to face…well, first neighbor and now friend 🙂

Our evening walk ended (thank God for good walking shoes!!) with a short visit to the famous Merlion statue, right outside the Fullerton Hotel.  Please excuse the so-many-people who decided to climb on the Merlion just as I was about to snap some photos…

The next day, we visited Jurong Bird Park for the first time, and it was a really enjoyable time for all of us.  I even had the rare opportunity of having a cockatoo “deliver” a free drink voucher right to my hand!  Simply awesome!

We also spent a day in the Singapore Zoo…second time for all of us, except Hannah.  It was scorching hot but in all honesty, we were thankful it did not rain!

Dinner that night was with some friends at *supposedly* the best Hainanese Chicken Rice place in Singapore: Boon Tong Kee, although strangely enough, it seems to be frequented by mostly non-locals.  Nevertheless, it definitely did not fail to deliver, and the chicken rice lovers in the family were very very satisfied indeed!

Our next stop was of course, Sentosa Island…we spent 2 nights in the beautiful island, which wasn’t all ONLY about Universal Studios…

For dinner the first night we were at Sentosa, we took the Sentosa Express to VivoCity and had our Marché fix…

And then on the day before we left Singapore, we spent the entire day at Universal Studios Singapore, where the kids (and adults) had a really enjoyable time!  My only complaint: the HEAT.

…ending the day on a sweet sweet note with a large packet of the very popular and not-that-cheap Garrett caramel popcorn.

…Oh yeah…we also managed to catch the colorfully captivating Crane show while enjoying our popcorn:

A very enjoyable family vacation indeed, with some exercise thrown in for good measure too, in the form of walking and strength training from carrying Hannah :P.  Good thing too, because that would help to offset the good food we had..hehe…

We brought back two little friends from Changi airport too…there was an Angry Birds promo happening at that time, where every purchase of SGD50 (using a Visa card) and over from the terminal area would entitle us to redeem an Angry Bird plush toy worth SGD25.  We redeemed one upon our arrival and one before we left Singapore:

Heya, we always frequent Soup Restaurant whenever we visit Singapore too! Simply love the samsui ginger sauce. Guess what? They just opened an outlet in 1Utama recently but compared to the pricing in Singapore, it’s a lot more…RM38 for half a chicken!

The Giddy Tigress says: They DID??!! Wow…that’s pretty pricey! Does it taste the same as the Singapore one?
