Our initial plan to take a drive to Boston last Saturday took a backseat due to the snow, so we went to Boston the following day instead. It’s about a 45-minute ride from where we were staying and it was already lunch time when we arrived in Boston, and we headed to look for a parking space near Faneuil Hall Marketplace, which is where Quincy Market is.
Boston is a very picturesque city, and I really love how the buildings exuded that European New England charm. Very pretty.
We took a walk to the marketplace, where we witnessed some enjoyable street performances and had a quick lunch at Quincy Market.
However, since it was getting dark, we didn’t venture to Chinatown as planned. That would have to wait till our next visit. 🙂
Instead, on our way home to Marlborough, we stopped at the Georgetown Cupcake outlet at Newbury St. Yes, this is the same famous cupcake store you’ve seen on TV: DC Cupcakes. The choices were mind-boggling, but in the end, I (only) bought 6 cupcakes, despite my temptation to get more.
Do not let the simple packaging (with that adorable reindeer sticker) fool you…
Presenting the flavors Rudolph Red Velvet (Classic red velvet cupcake with a vanilla cream cheese frosting topped with a fondant red-nosed reindeer), Vanilla² (Classic madagascar bourbon vanilla cupcake with a vanilla cream cheese frosting topped with a fondant snowflake) and Chocolate² (Valrhona chocolate cupcake with a whipped Callebaut chocolate frosting topped with a fondant snowflake):
Pete was all, “Are you sure it’s THAT yummy?” but now I’m sure he’d agree with me that we absolutely need to stop by that Georgetown Cupcake outlet again during our next Boston visit 🙂
Let’s just say the day ended on a very sweet and satisfying note. We’ll be back, Boston! 😀
those cupcakes look yummy! thx for the “no-lick” warning though…hehe…:-P
The Giddy Tigress says: Oh yes, they most certainly are… I’m already planning what flavors to order next time around!
I’ve never been to Boston but it surely looks tempting already from your photos. And Ethan and Hannah looked like they’re having great fun. Oh how I miss the cold weather. Keep posting k!
The Giddy Tigress says: Well the weather is most definitely different from that of Malaysia’s! Ethan and Hannah are adapting well, I’d say! You take care and keep posting too, yeah?! 😀
I’ve always wanted to go to Boston – home of Ally McBeal and Boston Legal. 🙂
The Giddy Tigress says: Oh, I didn’t realized Ally McBeal was filmed based in Boston.
