New toy?

For many moons, Pete and I have procrastinated about getting that digital video camcorder to record (mainly) Ethan‘s progress, antics and development. Lately however, we are thinking of getting a cellphone (for moi) which incorporates a videocam, a camera and also serves the purpose as a phone. Psst…the camera portion is to enable me to *freely* capture shots at my will for blogging. Hehehe….. I guess Pete got tired of me bugging him to download the photos we take with our trusted camera.

Being a Nokia person myself, we’re actually contemplating getting a Nokia N73. The ad for this phone promotes it as a cool gadget for bloggers! Need I say more? So what do you think? Should we geddit?

Which action hero would you be?

I did this interesting (but rather cheong-hei) quiz after reading about it from the Simple American.  Apparently, if I were to become an action hero, I would be James Bond (or the female version of agent 007, obviously):

You scored as James Bond, Agent 007. James Bond is MI6’s best agent, a suave, sophisticated super spy with charm, cunning, and a license’s to kill. He doesn’t care about rules or regulations and somewhat amoral. He does care about saving humanity though, as well as the beautiful women who fill his world. Bond has expensive tastes, a wide knowledge of many subjects, and his usually armed with a clever gadget and an appropriate one-liner.

James Bond, Agent 007
88%
Captain Jack Sparrow
83%
Indiana Jones
83%
Maximus
79%
Batman, the Dark Knight
79%
Neo, the “One”
67%
The Amazing Spider-Man
63%
The Terminator
58%
El Zorro
54%
William Wallace
54%
Lara Croft
46%

On the road to recovery

Finally, after 3 weeks plus of coughing, I am on the verge of recovering. Two and a half weeks into my cough, I was forced to see a doctor and I requested for medicine which was okayed by Ethan’s pedatrician, since I am still breastfeeding. Dr Jessica said I should take Rhinathiol for cough, Zyrtec as an antihistamine and for antibiotics: Erithromycin. The doctor I visited, however, was reluctant to prescribe me medication which was prescribed by another doctor whom he claimed did not even examine me. I only managed to persuade the doctor I visited to give me Erithromycin. He didn’t have Rhinathiol available, so he gave me Danzen; and he gave me Actiphed and Theophed instead of Zyrtec.

Immediately I called Dr Jessica to check if the medication was all right. She told me Danzen was not necessary since it is used to reduce swelling (huh? why was I given it in the first place?!!!). Actiphed and Theophed, on the other hand, was a no-no as baby would be hyperactive. I was mortified. Ethan was already active as he is, I was not willing to take the risk.

In the end, I got Zyrtec from my in-house panel clinic and bought Rhinathiol myself, off the shelf. And I am glad I did.

The things breastfeeding mommies have to put up with.

Blogger Power: “Safeguard the Web for Children” project

Shooi has tagged me (again!) – whassup girlfriend??!!  Seriously though, this is a tag for a good cause, and not just to generate website traffic.  Originating from Blogger Power, this message implores all adult site webmasters to make the internet a safe place for our children and future generation by password-protecting all adult-content sites.

A Request To All Webmasters Of Adult Sites:

“Please require a password-protected login before allowing even free access to explicit adult content. We understand that selling porn is your business and we respect your right to make a legal living. But understand our legitimate concerns and work with us. You already have the “warning adult content” on your websites. Yet kids, who are not legal customers of your product, ignore the warning. So to prevent them from having direct access to explicit images, texts and sounds, the simplest way is to have a password-protected login. No more “free tours” before a visitor supplies basic information.”

I won’t be tagging anyone after this as most of the people I would like to tag have already been tagged.

I got tagged (Tag: Who is the the first blogger you’ve met?)

My 6th sense told me I was gonna be tagged soon, and I was right… one of my breastfeeding moomie buddies, author of the blog Just My Thoughts, tagged me.  What a way to start the oink-oink piggy year! 🙂

Here goes:

1) Who is the first blogger you’ve met?
Author of My Baby Bay.  Not really the first meeting with a blogger really, cos Michelle is my co-worker, and I knew her before she started blogging, so…does this count?  (I’ve not met any bloggers whom I read about and THEN meet…)

2) Who is the ‘Most wanted to meet blogger?’ for you?
The Simple American.  He writes so well, and is well read.. it really shows in his blog, and I truly enjoy reading it whenever I can.  It’s amazing how he Malaysianizes his blogs and comments too!  Check out the way he “lahs” his way through… classic.

3) Who is the ‘I can meet, want to meet but somehow never got to meet’ blogger?
None that I can think of… if can meet wan, I already met la. Ish…

4) Who are the group of bloggers you most wanted to meet?
Group of bloggers?  Hmmm… I don’t know of any *group* yet, but my breastfeeding moomie group is a whole of lot of bloggers, and I’ve already met them all woh….

5) Do you have any bloggers/blog readers that you wish to meet right now?
Huh?  Something like Question 2, right?

Job’s done! 😉 I am now going to tag 5 more people:

  1. The Suzette – she’s my ex-varsity mate, and although we’ve not met for such a long time, it’s always nice to know someone we know who is also blogging away like nobody’s business.
  2. The Hijack Queen – I am really a fan of the photos she takes.  Does Photoshop plenty proud.
  3. The Simple American – Great blog.  Fantastic stories.
  4. My Baby Bay – This tag’s coming your way… enjoy!
  5. RamblingMoo – A brand new blogger friend I just met.
