Ashley, Soho or something else?

Like some of my blogger friends (we’re in the minority), I don’t have a craving for monogrammed Coach bags, let alone those that scream to be noticed in loud, garish colors.  I’m immensely pleased with Coach’s new line of bags: the Coach Originals.  They look SO YUMMY and that would be a problem, because then I would be tempted…then again, that’s a story for another time.

My hubby knows my taste in Coach bags pretty well, and during his last business trip, he’d surprised me with two 🙂

Let me introduce you to Ashley, my Coach leather carryall in the unique and beautiful color Chartreuse:

And here’s Soho, my Coach leather hobo, which has a very special design that I have not seen before.  Love the color combo too!

So here’s my dilemma.  I want to use one of those bags now, and save one for Chinese New Year next year.  Which one should I choose?

Ashley would be a welcome change to the reds we see during Chinese New Year, but I’m not even sure if the color will match my outfit (don’t even have an outfit planned yet).  Soho would be a good choice for CNY but I’m so tempted to use it right now too!  How?  Can you guys help me choose, please?

Well, one thing’s for sure… Hannah certainly has made up her mind!

Re: Obedient Wives Club

Dear Puan Siti Maznah Mohd Taufik,
I read with shocked interest, your views on the need to set up The Obedient Wives Club.  I could hardly believe my eyes when I read your implication that wives who do not so much as obey their spouses are to be held responsible for domestic abuse and for the reasons their husbands solicit the services of prostitutes.  I simply fail to understand the rationale behind this logic as I find it does not hold water at all.

While I do agree that wives should submit to their husbands, as it is written in The Bible in Ephesians 5:21-33, we must also understand that the submission referred to is a two-way path.  As much as the wife is expected to submit to the husband, the husband is expected to love the wife in return, with all of his life.  Here’s an excellent account of this Bible verse, if anyone is interested.

I certainly do not agree to your stand that wives are abused simply because they do not “listen to their husband”.  This belief is PRIMITIVE to say the least, and in this day and age when we are all striving for equality between sexes, what you are implying is for us to “bow down” to our husband’s wishes, no matter what.  Come on, some healthy debates in the household is certainly going to spice things up a little, no?

In addition, I fear that if a wife listens to her husbands and does as she is told all the time, your “plan” could backfire and the husband could be sent running out of the household screaming of boredom!

The essential thing to remember is MODERATION.  Husbands and wives should treat each other with respect and love.  Neither party should be doormats or “yes-persons” or SLAVES all the time, however, there should be compromise should a disagreement arises; i.e. a solution that satisfies both parties, and not just a VETO decision from a single party.

As for your Obedient Wives Club, I am curious as to how membership will be determined.  Will you be conducting spot checks on households to ensure that all your members abide by your rules and regulations?  Will you be providing “sexy clothes” to achieve your objective?  And if any member is found to DISOBEY her husband, will they be barred from their membership forever?

Sincerely,

Giddy Tigress

I’m in Love with a Miracle Potion that works!

I kid you not, peeps.

Finally!  Thanks to Paris B and her *genius* formula, I experimented with a miracle combination skincare regime that actually works.  Truly, I tell you.  And if you don’t believe me, well, you’ll just have to try it out for yourself, now won’t you? 🙂

potion2

Recently while hubbs was in the US for a business trip, I pounced on the opportunity to ask him to get me a bottle of Kiehl’s Midnight Recovery Concentrate.  I’ve not tried any of Kiehl’s skincare products, but this product was imperative to make my experiment work.  Exchange rate was in my favor too, so yeah, that helped loads.

Well, according to the formula, I had to mix one pump of the Estee Lauder Advanced Night Repair serum (which I am already a user of) and 1-2 drops of Kiehl’s Midnight Recovery Concentrate.  I rubbed them both together in my palms and applied the mixture to my face, after cleansing and toning.  I applied it to my neck and the back of my hands too… Then I followed with my usual moisturizer.  The moisturizer step is optional, I’d say, depending on how your skin condition is.  I have slightly dehydrated skin, which can absorb moisturizers and serums pretty well, so it didn’t feel too oily for me.

I left it on overnight and when I woke up in the morning, I was simply AMAZED at how smooth and refreshed my face looked!  I’ve had my share of tired, dull skin but this…THIS potion worked wonders!  It was as if I had a remarkably relaxing lifting facial while I slept.  And I’m not exaggerating!

I used it for a couple of days after that (yeah, see how tired and deprived my skin was) and I’m very happy with the results.  🙂  Each time, I awoke to baby-smooth skin that looked amazingly healthy!  I even found out that if I use a scrub or exfoliator before putting the potion on, its efficacy is increased! 😀

U and Me is boggling me

I’ve been staring at this billboard everyday, since I drive past this same route on Green Lane every day.  And it had bugged me from the start, though I didn’t know why…

uandme

..until my hubby remarked how silly the billboard was.  Why did they have to put “U” instead of spelling it out as “YOU”?  To save printing cost?
