There are 2 main reasons why I avoid using those sticky nose strips that claim to “extricate” the white heads and black heads on your nose. Having tried them years ago when they were first introduced by a popular brand in Malaysia, I found that they leave sticky residues on my nose and also, they made me break out, perhaps due to my sensitive skin.
Hence it was with much trepidation that I decided to try Beauty Clinic’s Sulfur Blackhead Suction Nose Pack. I did a quick google on this product and everyone who tried it had good things to say about it, so I was curious too. Also, with a name like that, I could almost feel it working on my nose just by reading it. Ha.
The suction nose pack includes 10 individually packed nose strips, and directions for use are provided on the box in Korean as well as in English. I would personally use the nose strips a maximum of 2 times a week, mainly because I don’t want the natural layer of my skin to be “stripped off” too often, but of course, the frequency of use is dependent on the individual. At the time of writing, I had only used the strips twice, 4 days apart.
So how did it fare?
Well, for starters, the nose strip had a strange smell, but not unbearably strong though. The picture of the girl on the packaging showed the nose strip looking jet black on the nose, but as you can see from my picture, it looked kind of greyish.
The strip was also quite easy to peel off and although it did leave some blackish residue, that was easily washed away with water.
Granted, it had been years since I last had a facial and I was bracing myself for the worst of results. However, I was surprised to notice not that many white heads on the strip when I peeled it off. Is that a good sign? 🙂

Well, actually the unique feature in Beauty Clinic’s Sulfur Blackhead Suction Nose Pack is that in addition to the nose strips, you are also provided a tube of Pore Stamping Serum, which is to be used after the nose pack is peeled off. The role of the Pore Stamping Serum is to close and tighten the open pores on your skin and prevent or lessen future recurrences of black/white heads.
However, I’d forgotten to use the serum the first time I used the nose pack, so I only used it the second time. I liked that it was scent-free and feels extremely light on the skin. I had expected something oilier, given that it is a *serum*. In fact, I also put some on the rest of my face (after I did a little scrub), and the skin felt smoother and silkier after that. How about that eh? You get a SERUM in this nose suction pack too!
My hubby was also game enough to try the nose pack and serum, but his only feedback is that the strip is not very sticky.
Sigh…Men!!
Anyway, to continue with my pampering session, I then applied another sheet mask on my face. This time I used Beauty Clinic’s Collagen Impact Essential Mask (the website I provided shows the mask as Collagen Infusion Essential Mask, but I am assuming that it is just a name change). If you remember I tried another mask from Beauty Clinic a few weeks ago: the Teatree Healing Solution Essential Mask.
The Collagen Impact Essential Mask is infused with marine collagen, marine elastine and Vitamin E, and it also fits nicely on the face, with a very thin layer but filled with moisture. This time round, I did not use it at night, instead, I used it in the morning before applying my makeup. The mask felt very cooling on my face and it is totally scent-free.
After 15-20 minutes, I removed the sheet mask, patted the moisture on my face (there was a LOT of moisture from the mask left!), and then proceeded with my regular skincare routine. I found that my makeup applied smoother and there was a glow on my skin afterward. Makeup stayed on for longer too, and my face felt light and refreshing the entire day.
The mask did live up to its claim of improving the elasticity of the skin, because my skin felt a little tighter and firmer. I suppose with regular use, the skin’s elasticity will be restored.
The best thing about this nose strip and mask is that they are really affordable. The Beauty Clinic’s Sulfur Blackhead Suction Nose Pack retails at just RM37 (pack of 10 nose strips and a tube of the Pore Stamping Serum) and the Collagen Infusion Essential Mask costs RM8.90 each. I’m actually eyeing their latest product which was recently launched, the Sensitive Sun Cream, but because of my potential allergy to homosalate, I would need to try a sample first, or at least check the ingredient list before getting it.
Me-Time Luxuries features special things I pamper myself with once in a while. Being a SAHM does not allow me a lot of me-time, but I make do with what I have and try to have those few minutes to myself as a form of *reward*. I try to keep it simple, no-fuss and as best as I can, frugal. After all, if I look and feel good about myself, I’d make others feel good too, yes? 🙂
