Reflections on Father’s Day

A Father…

~ beams with pride when his baby grabs hold of his finger ever so tightly.  A grasp that seems to say “Daddy, don’t ever leave me!”

~ goes out of his way to get his child that box of color pencils she asked for for her birthday.  A daughter’s smile will make Daddy’s day, anytime.

~ gives his child a hug and soothes away the pain of a tummy ache.  Nothing beats the comfort of Dad’s embrace.

~ prays with the family and guides us to follow God’s Word.

~ shows his child how to solve a complicated Mathematics question in the simplest manner possible.

~ offers his arm when his daughter takes that walk down the aisle.  An loving nudge in the right direction for the beautiful journey she was about to embark on.

~ is always there to listen to his children, no matter how busy he is.

~ is the calm in the midst of a storm.

~ is why Father’s Day is celebrated.

…and deep deep down, every woman is still Daddy’s little girl…..

I’ve got Blogivitis and it’s contagious!

The dreaded blogivitis has infected me
Courtesy of germs from Miss ParisB
There’s no known cure and certainly no vaccine
I’ve really got it bad, let me tell you what I mean…

The disease has made me obsessed with photography
Cuz every thing imaginable is always blogworthy
My favorites are pictures of food I’ve eaten
Like the roti pisang I had, which tasted like a meal from heaven!

Blogivitis made me re-explore photo editing
To showcase pretty pictures for a more pleasurable viewing
Learning from a si-mou, a si-fu and an expert down under
I’m constantly improving, thanks to all my “masters”!

The Google Reader is my trusted friend
A mandatory source which I can depend
I totally rely on it for my blog-hopping journey
Subscribing to feeds, there’s no such thing as too many!

Blogivitis has made me more organized
My RSS feeds are now grouped and systemized
This allows speedy reading and efficient commenting
Every second is a breeze, I’m certainly not complaining!

I live on comments, I find something to say
I simply need to leave at least some comments each day
I get all excited when new comments come my way
It shows my efforts are really starting to pay!

I suddenly find myself behaving rather strangely
Things that previously I would never ever be
The disease forced me to upgrade to an N73
Now I don’t have excuses like “My camera’s not with me!”

And if I do spot an interesting tag
I’d wish and wish for it to be in my bag
I’d even start drafting what I would write
Just in case I get tagged; you never know, I just might!

Now, my days all revolve around blogging
Although my mind’s a blank, I’ll think of something
The blogging ideas are kept in my head
And stay right in there even when I go to bed!

I get my dose of the latest news feed
Not from the papers, but from blogs I read
News on blogs , they spread like wildfire
I get the scoop hot on the wire!

And lastly the symptom that proves I’ve contracted it
Is when my lunch, I will willingly forfeit
Just to crack my brains over long detailed poetry
In order to fulfill a meme as a blog entry!

The following people will now be infected
I give you Blogivitis, so now you’re affected
Pink Cotton, Aikie and the Hijack Queen
Angeleyes and of course, how could I forget Jazzmint!

Snip and Cut

I was watching Desperate Housewives just the other day and suddenly as one of the characters was speaking, one of the words was muted (although his mouth kept moving).  C’mon, it doesn’t take a genius to figure out what the word was….It was so apparent what he said but still they had it censored.  Yes, he said the word “sex”.  *gasp!* *Horror!*  So the word “sex” is not allowed on TV, but women clad in sexy outfits are?!  Because they’re allowing that anyways…..  Whatever happened to the government’s mission to instill sex education in our youth?  I mean, can you just imagine the people who work for the censorship board pricking up their ears and going, “a-HAA!!!  There’s that word again, let’s blip it out!”

Oh and let’s not get me started about the movies.  Remember Hellboy?  Oh yeah, some of you might know it by the name of Super Sapiens instead.  Why did our censorship board change the name Hellboy to Super Sapiens, when the entire movie all we hear is Hellboy, Hellboy, Hellboy….. Isn’t that just totally absurd?  And why the double standards?  Why did Hellboy get changed to Super Sapiens (I’m assuming it’s because of the word “hell”), but Linkin’ Park’s Numb, which drones onandon with the line “What the hell are you waiting for?”, gets played over and over again on the radio?

Awww….and Audi!

Hands up those of you who have dreamt (or are dreaming) of owning an Audi!  I can imagine a big group of people jumping up and down, waving their hands madly in the air!  In fact, it is without a doubt that the Audi is a car that is considered to be in the same league as a Beemer, a Jaguar or a Mercedes Benz.  And you know what would be the perfect accessory for an Audi?  ME!!!!!  Just yesterday, my hubby was telling me that he likes the simple “rings” logo an Audi has.  Well, I don’t know if he was trying to hint on a Father’s Day present or not this coming Sunday, but I do agree that if you have the moolah to spend on a set of wheels, the Audi is the way to go (rings logo or not).  It is a classic, sophisticated, cool car and yes, a definite chick magnet. *wink* Oh yeah, and I’m sure everyone would want it as their *toy*.

*blinks and snaps out from daydreaming*

SIGH….But if owning an Audi is out of your league, it still never hurts to dream.  And now you can keep that dream alive by bringing the Audi to your PC.  Try staring at that dream car of yours till kingdom comes…. haha….if only it were that simple to own an Audi!  However, with these awesome Audi wallpapers and screensavers, you will be looking at the car day in and day out until it (hopefully) becomes a reality!  Just think about it, when you are idling away and thinking about what to blog, this tempting Audi screensaver greets you in the face and totally, absolutely cheers you up!  You can choose from the various wallpaper designs they have; I am sure you will be spoilt for choice.

But if an Audi is not really your cup of tea (though I can’t imagine why ever not), perhaps you would love checking out these used cars instead?  You can use the impressive search tool to find cars, stating your price range and car model and make too.  In addition, you can use the highly impressive and unique map locator to locate the nearest car dealer.  Too bad this site only locates dealers in the UK, so I will have to be contented with the *virtual car* for now.  So, if you’ll excuse me, I gotta go download that Audi Roadster wallpaper pronto and start swooning!

~This is a sponsored review which will go into my savings to own myself an Audi~

Games We Play

Does anyone remember Space Invaders? That was *the* in-thing back then. Kids everywhere were crazy over the 2-dimensional shooting game, and although the graphics were just plain and simple, we still got immensely hooked. I recall playing it to death when I was visiting my aunt in Perth, Australia. My brother and I were so addicted we didn’t even want to go sightseeing.

How things have changed now. Kids these days have computer games which are so much more richer in animation and graphics and sound. RPG Games like WarCraft (which by the way, my hubby is addicted to now) offer players the opportunity to play online with other players even on the other side of the planet! Talk about globalization! And I know how easy it is to get addicted to a game like WarCraft. I confess, I too was a WarCraft junkie, believe it or not… I was introduced to the world of humans and orcs when I played WarCraft 2 during my university days. At that time I normally played at night, when everyone was asleep and I was bored and had nothing else better to do. My dormitory would then be really quiet and then in the still of the night, you could hear sounds of pain and agony of creatures being killed coming from behind my room door…. wuahahahaha! My dormitory mates would then knock on my door to inquire if I was all right. Yup, I was addicted all right… Had all those secret codes down pat as well. But not now. I’ve not started playing WarCraft dotA or World of WarCraft although I have heard rave reviews about it. I daren’t. Just in case I get pulled in again.

And hey, you know what, I get to play Space Invaders again, ONLINE!
