Indeed.
I came. I saw. (I almost backed out for fear of not being able to complete it, but) I conquered.
Hubby took the day off today, so after we dropped the kids off for the School Holiday Program for the morning part of the day, we decided to take a hike up Penang Hill, via the route we used to take way back when.
I would not have dared hike up if I had not been going to the gym quite regularly for the past month or so, but then again the prospect of going up again was too good to resist.
We decided that if we got too tired when we reached the halfway point (46), we would just turn around and head on down. However, upon reaching 46, I decided I could still go on. Could be the endorphins speaking, for all I knew.
So we went on and persevered. The ground was a little damp due to the heavy downpour from last night, and the tar road from the halfway point onwards felt steeper than I had remembered. I had to walk a little slower and more carefully too, because I had a slight pain in my knee (getting a knee guard/brace soon!).
Well anyways, after slightly less than an hour (which was a surprise to me!), we finally saw the hut at the 84 Restpoint, our destination!
If you wanna know what a tired and satisfied person who’s happy with her accomplishment looks like…
The green view from up there…
A great way to start the day and week! Now, who’s game for Round 2? 😀
are you planning for mt kk?
The Giddy Tigress says: Not on the radar la. With kids it’s a whole new ball game. If/when you have scaled Mt KK, post pics and tell me about it.
